Top 5 iPhone Apps of 2016

I can sit here and say that I cannot believe 2016 is basically over, it is unreal how fast a year really does go by. To cheers to a new year I wanted to do another recap of some of my favorite apps from 2016! Here we go!

2. Buzzfeed
4. Youtube
5. Facebook

Now I know what you’re thinking, why are basically all of your favorite apps social media? Well, social media has become not only my life but it has also become my job. I work on social media for pleasure, blogging and now for work. It is a huge part of my life and it really keeps me happy and entertained basically at all times. For my last post I explained why each beauty product was my favorite but I don’t think these need explanations, they are what they are. Instagram is my livelihood; it keeps my eyes and mind happy every time I scroll through. Buzzfeed keeps me up to date with current events, weekly sales and of course QUIZZES! What would 2016 have been without Buzzfeed quizzes? VSCO is where I do all my editing of photos and make myself prettier. Youtube is where I watch my favorite beauty gurus and vloggers which seems to always put me in a better mood. And Facebook which would normally not even be on one of these lists has become amazing for me due to the fact I now am part of so many amazing groups and am able to communicate with people from all over the world about the things we have in common.

Thank you social media for being bomb this year, you killed it. Yes im talking to you Instagram update!

Top 10 Beauty Products of 2016

I finally feel like myself again, I’ve been writing blog posts and getting back into Instagram and posting daily (PS I HAVEA GIVEAWAY CURRENTLY HAPPENING!). I finally feel human again after the longest time! But anyway I thought for my next few posts ill be doing 2016 wrap-ups! For example this one of course and a few other posts I have up my sleeve.
So lets kick this right off with my top 10 beauty products of 2016!

1. Cane + Austin 2% / 10% Acne Retexture Pad + || Not even lying when I say this but these pads have completely changed my skin. I used to have really painful and annoying acne/pimples that would pop up out of nowhere while I was using a prescription gel I got from my dermatologist. I read a few things about this and bit the bullet, spent the money and just bought it. I used this and I really did notice a difference. I have not had a cystic pimple in months. Pimples do still pop up from time to time but it is nothing like it was and I’m so thankful for that!

2. Rimmel Stay Matte Long Lasting Press Powder || This powder has been my favorite powder for years now and I go through this stuff like its going out of style. With my skin type I always want to keep my products the same and not really switch it up and when I find something that works, I keep using it. This is one of those products, it works, it doesn’t break me out or give me a reaction and it keeps me matte! What’s not to like!

3. Revlon Colorstay Combination/Oily Foundation || This is the same; once I find something that works I keep with it. THIS WORKS. It covers well, gives me the staying power I want and its easy to find. This combined with my next two products and the product above is my ultimate holy grail!

4. Benefit The Porefessional Primer || Like the two above, same story. I also want to point out that I really do see a difference in my pores. This primer combined with my skincare routine, (comment if you would like an updated skincare routine!) my pores are looking great and this really helps keep them small when I put it on.

5. NYX HD Concealer || Now like the three above, same thing. I saw Casey Holmes recommend this concealer and have been repurchasing ever since. It really is one of the best drugstore concealers I have ever used. It gives me great coverage and even though I don’t use it under my eyes and use it to conceal little marks/imperfections it still is fantastic!

6. Kylie Cosmetics Koko Lip Kit || UGH. TAKE ALL MY MONEY KYLIE JENNER, JUST TAKE IT! I must say I was extremely hesitant of buying her makeup when it first came out but let me tell you, best liquid lip on the market in my opinion. I have used Koko, Maliboo, all the products from the Koko Collection and the Merry liquid lipsticks and some of the liners. Koko clearly is my favorite because duh it’s named after me and it’s actually become my signature color. It’s the perfect pinky nude for my skin tone!

7.  Colourpop Bestie Ultra Glossy Lip || I always wanted to try Colourpop and I saw a deal they had going on and just ordered! I got a bunch of different lip products but this one is by far my favorite. I will wear this on my “natural” makeup day just because it’s so pretty and looks super glossy on my lips and of course perfect color for my skin tone.

8. L’Oreal Voluminous Superstar Mascara || I saw Farah Dhukai using this in so many of her videos and just had to buy it. It gave her such a fake lash look without fake lashes. Clearly you can see just from this post if I see one good thing about a product I go and get it and 99% of the time get lucky! This mascara is AMAZING! It’s a primer and mascara and it really gives you amazing lashes!!

9. Essence Lash Princess Mascara || Before I found the L’Oreal mascara I was using this for MONTHS. Also want to mention, YOU MUST GET THE GREEN ONE! The orange one is nowhere near as good as the green in my opinion. This mascara is cheaper then a Starbucks drink and works so great for a girl on a budget and even with all my mascaras I always go back to this one. It truly gives you that fake lash look but nothing clumpy or gross, YAY!

10. Batiste Dry Shampoo With a Hint of Color || HOLY GRAIL. I legit hate washing my hair and it makes me just want to drown in my own shampoo because its that much of a task for me, I swear, I am clearly not exaggerating. This has basically saved so much water and time for me this year because all I do when I’m feeling greasy is spray this in, brush and tease and I’m done and leaving the house. If you haven’t tried the color one, you’re missing out big time!

Hope you enjoyed my top 10 favorite beauty products of 2016 and now I want to hear about yours! Comment with your top three products and because I have #SUCKER written on my forehead, chances are ill try it!

Coco Takes NYFW

Happy New York Fashion Week! I’m so thankful for all of my amazing followers who are able to make all of my fashionista dreams come true!
This year I actually have a job and was only able to get one day off and attend one day but I made the most out of this one-day and tried to spend it the best I could!

First stop was to the Betsy Elisa Beauty Bar, which was my favorite NYFW experience of all time! I got my hair and makeup done by some of the top industry professionals and could not have been happier with my outcome! Marisa did such amazing makeup on me I came home and wanted to keep it on all night! And Elisa did my hair which again, AMAZING! If I could have kept it in all night without it getting ruined by me sleeping on it I swear I would have shown up to work with this hair! My hair is EXTREMELY thick and hard to manage and she gave me exactly what I asked for which was volume at the top and up! Here is the beautiful outcome of the Betsy Elisa Beauty Bar! Also want to mention we got an amazing goodie bag for stopping by filled with tons of phenomenal products!!

Next was the Supima Design Runway Show! It’s actually a lot like project runway where finalists from all over the US show their collection and the winner gets $10,000! HOW AMAZING! The collections were absolutely beautiful and each designer brought their own interpretation to the Supima cotton fabric, which again I thought was absolutely amazing! I didn’t get to many photos but I did find this one on the Internet of my favorite piece from the show!

Unfortunately for me the day was kept short but there will always be another fashion week to attend!
I posted a ton about fashion week and my Chicago trip on Instagram so head over to check it out!! Also be sure to follow my Snapchat to see the next adventure ill be heading on starting tomorrow!
See you soon beauties!!

Coco Takes Chicago

This time we went to one of my top 5 favorite cities in the world, CHICAGO!!!
I adore Chicago and literally everything in it, everything from the amazing food to the skyline. Anyway lets get going and ill bring you around Chicago with me!

First of course we fly out to Chicago and I took a billion pictures while in the air because I am the most basic girl you will ever meet. So here is one of them.

We actually arrived in the morning, got set at the Hampton Inn Chicago Magnificent Mile Hotel that I would highly recommend if you want to be pretty much close to everything, especially SHOPPING!

We then headed out for an amazing lunch at a restaurant we actually found out about through The Cooking Channel called Kuma’s Corner! We ended up being closest to one of the other restaurants Kuma’sToo! The place on The Cooking Channel was very crammed and packed (at least it seemed that way) but Kuma’s Too we got right into and could really sit down and enjoy a nice lunch! They are known for their insane burgers but obviously I opted for the mac and cheese because, basic and added bacon YAAAAS! Every time I see this photo I just want to go back and eat more of this stuff! It was relish!

We then after a little shopping and just walking the streets decided we were going to head over to Navy Pier! Again I would highly recommend going here but you must go on a nice day! It’s pointless to go if it is raining or crappy out! We took a ride on the ferris wheel thing (its not actually a ferris wheel, its more like the London Eye Chicago style!) We somehow timed this SO PERFECTLY and got to see the sunset over the skyline! And then of course more photo ops and we had to hit up the Snow Dragon Shavery!
Get the shaved ice there and don’t be dumb like me and get a macaroon filled with ice cream! The shaved ice was so much more fun and is more a one-time experience!

Moving on to yes, more food. Our taxi driver told us the best pizza place was actually a block behind our hotel, Gino's East. LET ME ADD YOUR PIZZA WILL TAKE AN HOUR TO COOK! So sit down and order right away and don’t go when you are absolutely starving! You will end up waiting and being hangry! The pizza was good but definitely not my favorite Chicago pizza!

Day two! Yes everything before this all happened in one looooong day! Day two we took it easy, did more shopping and had our exciting night out which included going to The Bean and RPM Italian (MY ABSOLUTE FAVORITE RESTURANT IN CHICAGO!) The Bean was a large bean, what did you expect? It’s pretty much just fun for photos and getting sweaty if you go in the summer. The sun just beats off of The Bean right onto you and you will get hot very quickly! Plan accordingly unlike I did, I said lets go to The Bean before our fancy dinner! Yay!

Moving onto RPM Italian!! First of all, as we are walking out and I casually go on Instagram I come to find out Giuliana and Bill Rancic HAD TAKE OUT FROM THE RESTURANT AND WE WERE LITERALLY JUST SITTING IN OUR BOOTH! COOL COOL!
But anyway, you need to get the Chanterelle Risotto because it is life changing! That and all of the desserts on the menu! I think my family consisting of four people got five different desserts.

Day Three consisted of food and more food of course. We had Lou Malnati’s for lunch, this is by far some of the best pizza I have ever had and you must go here if you are in Chicago!

Of course following lunch I need dessert because I found a super cute place on Instagram and it ended up being right across the street from Lou’s. It was called Goddess and Grocer and they serve RAINBOW CAKE! It was not only delicious but it made for a bomb Instagram post!

And last but not least, day four, my favorite day of all. I found another place on Instagram (life of a social media obsessed girl) for brunch! It was called The Hampton Social LET ME TELL YOU! This was by far my best find of our trip, not only was brunch delish this place was so Instagramable, see photo below! Literally the best place in Chicago!

That was so much to write but I had to tell all of you lovely people about my AMAZING trip to Chicago! I will see you on Wednesday with another Coco Takes post! Stay tuned!!
