Splurge Worthy Products

As you can tell from my blog posts I’m not someone who splurges regularly on products. 90% of my makeup collection is all drugstore products but I do occasionally splurge on some nice products at either Sephora or Ulta. So if you’re like me and tend to only splurge on amazing products hopefully my list of splurge worthy products will help you out!

1.     Urban Decay Naked 2 & 3 palettes: these are on here for a few reasons. Number one, I think these palettes have beautiful colors. Two, the pigmentation is unreal. And three these are all in one palettes, when traveling or even doing your makeup you need to use one thing. You don’t need to bring 10 different shadows, it’s all right there for you and you can create multiple looks with each palette. Naked 2 tutorial HERE!

2.     Benefit The Porefessional: If you’re someone who suffers from huge pores like me, I have found this to be one of the only things that works. My pores are huge and I just pat this in my problem areas either under makeup or alone and I’m good to go! It’s the perfect product for minimizing pores.

3.     Mario Badescu Skin Care Drying Lotion: I’m an acne sufferer and this product has become a holy grail for me. When I feel a pimple coming I dab this on at night and when I wake up the pimple is there. I know your thinking well how is that good, well for me under the skin pimples are extremely painful and I feel like when I see them I can tackle them more easily. It comes to the surface as a smaller, less painful pimple and it’s usually a white head in my case. I soak my white head in hot water or use my Clarisonic and it’s basically gone!

4.     Benefit Hoola bronzer: I have tried my fair share of drugstore bronzers but never found one that worked as well as this one does. I usually use it for a light contour on my cheekbones and around my temples and it just works! This bronzer is extremely blendable and light enough that you can build up when you want more color.

5.     Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara: This is mascara I got in a Sephora holiday mascara box maybe two years ago. Let me say this mascara is the bomb . com! If you’re looking for higher end mascara you NEED this one. It brings instant volume, length and pure Va Va Voom to your lashes!

6.     Benefit Gimme Brow: Only recently have I been doing anything with my brows and this is been the perfect product for me. I usually use a clear brow gel and this is a step up from that. It’s so easy to apply, blendable and looks natural on the brow.

7.     Smith’s Rosebud Salve lip balm: This isn’t a huge splurge but you can buy it at Sephora so that’s why it’s on here. When you hear someone rave about a lip balm you're thinking how can a lip balm be so great? Well this one is, and I finally understand the love for this product. All I can say to you is try it and you will know what I’m talking about!

8.     MAC Lip Pencil in Soar: Kylie Jenner lips anyone? This color happens to be the perfect lip pencil color for me and I'm sure a million other people to. I either wear this under a lip color, by itself or sometimes I try to be like Kylie and over line my lips. Basically, you need this in your life.

Here are my eight product that I believe are totally worth the splurge! What’s one product that’s splurge worthy in your opinion!?

Saturday Special #TeamBruce

First of all I want to say how strong he is for doing this. I could never imagine doing an interview with someone’s who’s basically a stranger about a touchy subject. I can say that I'm proud to be supporting and following his story.
Yes, I’m referring to Bruce as a "he/him" in this post because he doesn't have a female name yet and I honestly don't know how to do this correctly.
Transgender is something that has become very widely accepted and publicized lately and I'm happy to live in a society that accepts all people. I don't think ill ever be able to say that I completely understand being a transgender but I fully accept it.

Back to Bruce Jenner, I honestly feel bad that he has had to keep this a secret for such a long time, no one deserves to live a life they are not comfortable with. Not only do I feel for him, I feel for his family and friends who are going through this with him. I admire him for doing an interview and make this whole matter completely public. I can honestly say that I'm more then excited to watch to watch his transformation and I'm also interested to see how he will go about being publicly transgender.
I fully support Bruce in his transition and I cant wait to continue on the journey with him.

My advice; if you or someone you know is transgender, support them. Love them for who they are and be a constant support system for them whether they are young or old.

SIDE NOTE: I'm EXTREMELY curious as to whether he will change his name to start with a "K" or a "B" or something completely different.

Mirabilia Organic Olive Leaf Tea Review*

What they say: Olive leaf tea is mellow and soft with a multitude of health benefits. It packs the antioxidant punch of a heavyweight. The most beneficial tea is made from organic green olive leaves, quickly dried to maintain their health enhancing properties.

Thoughts: I can happily say I have found my new staple tea! Not only is this tea healthy its delicious, it has such a light yet yummy flavor to it, which is unlike any tea I’ve ever had before. If your someone who wants something warm and delicious to drink but don’t want any caffeine you need to buy yourself a package of this tea.
I love a little bit of sweetness to my tea but with the Organic Olive Leaf Tea I felt like I didn’t need to add anything extra.
P.S. tomorrow ill be trying an iced version since I love it so much!

Worded Urban Decay Naked 2 Tutorial*

Chances are if you’re reading this you are interested in a tutorial using the Naked 2 palette. I am no makeup artist or guru or anything like that, I’m just an eighteen year old girl wanting to do pretty makeup on myself every once in a while. So I would consider this tutorial perfect for every girl who has the tools but not makeup artist status skill. So let me break this down for you as well as I can!
Here we go!

What I Used:
Naked 2 Palette
Small Angled Brush
Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush
Real Techniques Accent Brush
Real Techniques Crease Brush
MAC 215 Brush
Tarte Lights Camera Flashes Mascara
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara

Shadows I Used:
Booty Call
Half Baked

Now I am going to try and make this easy for everyone.

1. Using my Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush I took Chopper and covered my entire lid. Nothing to dramatic yet because we will continue to go back and add more to your lid.
2. Then using my MAC 215 I took Busted and created depth to my eye, I lightly put Busted in my outer V.
3. And now blend the heck out of what you have! Do this using the Real Techniques Crease Brush.
4. After using this brush wipe off all of the excess onto a tissue so we can continue to use it.
5. I took a little bit of Booty Call and Half Baked on my cleaned Real Techniques Crease Brush to blend up the mixture of color to my brow bone while keeping it subtle.
6. Don’t forget you can keep going back and adding color until your happy with the way it looks. I went back and added more of Chopper to my lid since I wanted a casual copper look.
7. Make sure your happy with the way it looks because this is basically all you are going to be doing on the main part of your eye. Blend, add more color, blend again and make your own perfect look.
8. Then taking my Real Techniques Angled Brush I got a little bit of Foxy which is the lightest color and put it on my inner corner to brighten up my eye.
9. And last but not least for the shadow, using any angled brush (mine is from Claire’s and didn’t have a specific name, any small brush will work for this) take Busted again and lightly smoke out your lower lash line.
10. Now for mascara! I just used my two favorite mascaras: Tarte’s Lights Camera Flashes on my upper lashes and Maybelline Great Lash on my lower lashes.
