Christmas Eve Tradition || Coco's 12 Days of Christmas

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE BEAUTIES! I cannot believe tomorrow is Christmas, I have accomplished 12 days of blogging in a row and in just a few days 2015 will completely be OVER! It’s absolutely insane! But I thought I would do another story time of how I spend my Christmas Eve!

So basically I spend all day getting ready (yes I do glam hair and makeup to go sit at my Nanas house) and head over for the typical Italian Christmas Eve! Its just six of us but we do the traditional seven fishes accept my sister and I have spaghetti and meatballs but everyone else does the whole fish thing! After an exhausting and very long dinner we do presents! We do a majority of the presents my Nana and Aunt give to us and then of course we gift them! We always try and give them a bigger present like a family outing or big dinner! We do this on Christmas Eve when it’s just us so everyone else doesn’t get jealous of there AWESOME present on Christmas Day! Also another tradition we do is we all get pajamas to wear that night, my nana does all the buying and every one of us get a nice new pair of PJ’s! I always have a very low key Christmas Eve but it’s always filled with love and family so I can’t complain!

Do you guys have any family traditions you do every single year? Let me know, as I love hearing what everyone else’s family does!
Also if you weren’t here yesterday I posted my first ever YouTube video and wrote apost up about it! It’s a big accomplishment for me and maybe I have a future in Youtubing along with blogging! If you didn’t see the video please go watch and let me know what you think! I would love feedback! But anyway here are some pictures of me and my family from last Christmas Eve and I am wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!

December 22, 2015

Today my dad and I bit the bullet and decided to head to the mall, not only was it surprisingly quiet for the Monday before Christmas ALMOST everything went very smoothly! We had a few stores we had to get gifts at which went smooth and then we made our way to the dreaded department store MACYS! I’m sorry but for as big of a company as they are and for as many holiday seasons they have been selling for they should have a little bit of an idea of what’s happening! But that’s not the point of this post, here are some tips to get you through those last minute mall runs just a few days before Christmas.

1.  Wear comfortable clothing and shoes!

2.  Dress lightly! All the stores have the heat on (especially in NY!) and the stores are sweltering hot so wear as little clothing as possible!

3.  Have a plan, know where you’re parking your car, know what stores you plan to hit and have a plan of action!

4.  Be prepared to wait on long lines, deal with snotty customer service people and handle big crowds.

These all may seem very obvious to some people but not so obvious to others so I have to point them out! Some other things are...

5.  Carry as little as you can, your big Michael Kors purse isn't necessary, grab a wristlet or wallet that’s easy to carry and just go!

6.  Go at strange hours, the early morning is the best for no crowds; late nights are the best for moderate crowds and if your planning to go during school hours when all the other parents are out likes you, SHOP AMAZON PRIME.

7.  Call ahead and find out store hours, the Macys by me is open till 2 AM some nights this week so plan accordingly.

8.  Put on a smile, make an effort to be nice to employees because trust me there only doing this work for a paycheck and they hate dealing with rude customers. So be nice even when the situation is awful.

9.  Keep track of everything you've done and or plan to do, check off what stores you've hit and where you need to go.

10.  And last but not least, know the mall your shopping in, if your unfamiliar look at a map. I directed my dad our entire shopping trip today due to the 4 wings filled with tons of stores.

I hope some of these tips will be new for you or shed some light on some of your last minute holiday shopping! And of course Amazon Prime is always an option if you just can’t stand the mall. One thing I highly do not recommend you do is in store pick up. This is where you order online, pay and get an email telling you when your item is ready for pickup. This happened to me tonight and it was a nightmare and a half.
So make life easy, go in knowing exactly what you want and shop in store if possible. Good luck to everyone on these last few crazy shopping days, keep your bags, phone and money on you AT ALL TIMES. Constantly check for these items as well! You don't want to be the lady whose phone gets stolen at Macys and ends up in Mexico (mom I'm talking to you)!

Good luck and STAY SAFE!

DIY Gift Guide FAIL! || Coco's 12 Days of Christmas

So I picked out two DIY projects from Pinterest that I was SO excited to try and hopefully blog about but both basically failed. So what I am going to do is give you some tips on how to make these DIY's actually work!!

So first DIY fail was marble dipped mugs, here is the link I used to try and make lovely marbled mugs which ended up failing but here we go. So I'm going to tell you what I would change and do differently so maybe it could end up being a Pinterest WIN for you!
First, white mugs are oddly hard to find at a dollar store but try and find them! I ended up finding white mugs with a gold rim at the top, which ended up working fine. But I can guarantee that’s going to be the hardest thing to find, now onto the disposable pan, I would pick up one for every mug to make things much simpler and neater and make sure they are decently deep inside! This way you can fill the pan up with as much water as your heart desires! Then for the nail polish, I found that I needed one bottle per mug so keep that in mind. The rest of the supplies are self-explanatory and either things you have at your house or things that can be found at the dollar store.
Now onto the project! You need to fill up your disposable pan pretty dang high to get a nice long marbled effect. I filled mine up with four full glasses of water and my cups ended up getting just a little of the bottom coated. Another mistake I made is adding too much polish, so when you fill up your pan with your warm water less nail polish is the way to go! You also must be doing this by a skink and have plenty of towels. You also must work very fast when adding the polish to the water, swirling it into a marbled design and dipping your mug. This all needs to be done as quickly as possible. So have everything handy! Another thing is a small quick dip for your mug into the water is the way to go! You don't need to keep it in longer then a second or two like I mistakenly did. After that I left them upside down on a paper towel to dry (possibly one of the only things I did right). They may drip down a little but that’s what the nail polish remover is for! For this you should buy a few tester mugs if that’s in your budget to kind of play around and figure out how you like everything.

Now for my epically failed bath bombs! Find the actually recipe/tutorial here! For this one I did everything correct the only thing I did was change out citric acid for cream of tartar (cream of tartar is much more easy to find at a grocery store!) which if you do this whatever the recipe with citric acid calls for you MUST HALF IT! That’s very important! For these I stupidly couldn't find nice ice cube trays at the dollar store so I settled for cookie cutters, DUMB IDEA. Not that it really would have made a difference. I found cute heart ice cube trays at home and used my extra mixture for those. It says you make 3 with the ingredients but I ended up with like 15 small ones. I don't know if I packed them into the molds wrong or what. But anyway, this recipe worked perfectly but my molds have yet to officially set. They haven't hardened or molded together and it’s been four days. So I would make things very simple, and put the plain mixture in maybe a mason jar with a little spoon attached and write a cute little message like "add a sprinkle or two into your bath for a lovely wintery relaxing bath time!” I can guarantee that’s what in going to end up doing! Dumping my molds back into a bowl and filling mini mason jars with the mixture. Just because it’s not in bath bomb shapes it still works right?

So I had to of course share a few pictures with you to take you on my messy Pinterest failed journey! So enjoy and don’t forget my giveaway ends in 2 days! Enter by commenting your favorite Christmas song HERE! And feel free to comment here and tell me your worst Pinterest fail! Maybe ill feel better about myself!

Born Pretty Store || Coco's 12 Days of Christmas*

What they say: The website has gained thousands upon thousands of registered customers from all over the world, leading up to millions of sales per month. We offer world wide free shipping and have already shipped to more than 150 countries including United Sates, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Russia, Italy, New Zealand, Spain, Brazil, Japan, Singapore, Korean, etc. The original inspiration of the name born pretty store comes from proverb “each woman is born pretty”. Combining the aim of providing beauty items to the female, we incorporated it into the name “born pretty” store. Born Pretty Store is a store intended to provide each ordinary female, whoever they are, wherever they come from, with the latest fashion items of nail art, make up and outfit, helping them find the best way to dress up, which ultimately push outside their potential beauty to the fullest.

I was able to pick out 5 items to review so I picked nail art caviar beads, a hot pink nail polish, a color changing lip balm, a magic lip tattoo lip tint and a concave foundation brush! So I have to say that I was a bit skeptical with it coming from so far away but everything arrived in absolute perfect condition and I absolutely love everything! Absolutely everything found on the Born Pretty Store is EXTREMELY affordable and you can find basically anything any girl would ever need here!

The caviar beads are PERFECT for any nail art junkie! They come in a set of 12 so you get 12 different colors, which is amazing. I found them to be super easy to use; I’ve found you can either do the beads with a clear coat or a matching color underneath. Buy them HERE!

The nail polish is beautifully pigmented and so bright which I wish I had for the summer! This is the absolute perfect summer polish for those people who like hot pinks! ALSO THESE GLOW IN THE DARK!! Another amazing summer item! Buy it HERE!

On to my favorite item of the five I received the color changing lip balm! Not only is it a true lip balm it creates your perfect pink! I actually had my mom and sister try it as well to make sure everyone didn’t get the same color and we each had a different pink on our lips! It also stayed on for quite a while which is amazing for a lip balm and was also extremely moisturizing! Buy it HERE!

The lip tattoo lip tint also worked great! The color comes out super red but when you take it off it turns more into and orangey red that I wasn’t in love with but other then the color the stain part actually worked really well! You put it on, let it sit for a little while and peel it off and the color stays perfect! Buy it HERE!

The brush reminded me of the Bare Minerals perfecting face brush so I knew this had to be a pick of mine! I always wondered how and or if brushes like this would work and it really does! The bristles are SO soft and it’s a really amazing brush! Buy it HERE!
